We take the unprecedented threat of Covid-19 very seriously and have made a number of changes to our practice to minimise the chance of transmission to or between our patients.
We have attempted to stagger appointments and have created seperate waiting areas for patients to allow social distancing. If you prefer to wait in your car, we can call you in for your appointment time. Please call 03 6231 2477 when you are parked to check in. We are meticulous with equipment and hand cleaning.
We actively encourage phone consults and telehealth, particularly for review patients. You will be bulk billed (no out of pocket costs) for your phone consult.
We are still open for emergency consults and emergency surgery.
For overnight admissions, you will be contacted from Calvary Hospital to assess your Covid risk profile. The following information from Calvary Healthcare is UTD from 15/03/2022.
From Tuesday 15th March 2022 we will require all patients being admitted for overnight stays (inpatients) to our hospitals to have a negative PCR COVID-19 test result prior.
For day procedure patients, this will not be required (unless screened as high risk). How to obtain a PCR
A PCR can be obtained from Hobart Pathology Showgrounds drive through and will be bulk billed if you have an appropriate pathology form signed by your doctor. This site is open 0800-1200 noon every day EXCEPT Wednesday and Sunday.

The night before your admission you will be contacted by the hospital and asked to complete a screening assessment over the phone. At this time staff will ask if you have a PCR result.
If you have completed a PCR test in the last 48 hours with a negative result evidence such as an SMS of this can be shown to staff on arrival to the hospital.
